Deadline for submissions: 17:00 GMT/UTC, May 4, 2012

Submissions should be directed to the
.
Expressions of Interest to join the HTAi Policy Forum are welcomed from organisational members of HTAi that take a leading role in work at the interface of HTA and decision making.

Expressions of Interest should comprise a short document (no more than 4 pages) that includes:

Confirmation of organizational membership in HTAi;

An overview of the organisation (stating public or private sector) and its involvement in the use of HTA in healthcare decision making;

Reasons for seeking to join the HTAi Policy Forum and the contribution the organization expects to make;

A brief biography of the organization's senior staff members who will participate in the Forum including a description of the particular expertise and experience they bring; and,

A statement of intent to join the Forum for a minimum of three years.

About the HTAi Policy Forum

The HTAi Policy Forum was established in 2004 to provide a unique opportunity for discussion between private and public sector organisations involved at the interface of HTA and health care decision making. It is convened and run by HTAi to contribute to promoting the development, understanding, and appropriate use of HTA.

More information on the HTAi Policy Forum is available

Expectations for HTAi Policy Forum members

HTAi Policy Forum members are entitled to send two delegates to each meeting of the Policy Forum. The Forum meets twice per year: a main meeting in late January or early February, and a shorter meeting in June (in conjunction with the HTAi Annual Meeting).

Members are asked to commit to a minimum of three years of membership. In 2012-13, for-profit members will contribute USD $22,000 per annum in addition to their HTAi organisational subscription. Not-for-profit members will contribute USD $2,000 per annum in addition to their HTAi organisational subscription.

Member selection process

Final decisions about HTAi Policy Forum membership are made by the HTAi Board of Directors. HTAi has had a standard process and guidelines for selection of members. This process allows for the invitation of new members and for review of existing members.

Any Expressions of Interest that cannot be accommodated through existing vacancies will be reviewed alongside current Forum members who have completed their initial membership commitment of three years.

Final decisions on HTAi Policy Forum membership for 2012-13 will be made by the end of June 2012. It is hoped that those selected to join the Forum will be able to attend its next main meeting, in late January or early February 2013.
