WHO First Global Forum on Medical Devices to be held in Thailand, Sept. 9-11, 2010

The World Health Organization is pleased to announce that the First Global Forum on Medical Devices to be held 9-11 September, 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The First Global Forum on Medical Devices will bring together policy makers, professional organizations, funding agencies and key stakeholders to foster interdisciplinary discussion and partnerships. The Forum is part of WHO's overall strategy to improve access to safe, effective and appropriate medical devices.

HTAi has been closely involved in planning for the First Global Forum on Medical Devices through its role on the WHO Advisory Group on Innovative Technologies. In June of this year, HTAi and WHO signed a Memorandum of Understanding for ongoing work to promote HTA.
